These are fruits of the crabapple tree* but they look like marschiano cherries to me. You know those cherries that come in a jar that bars put in cocktails. Yummy! – the cherries, not the crabapple fruit.
* EDIT: I have been informed by my dear friend Dave who is the resident expert on all things nature that those ARE cherries, not crabapple fruits.
