Mosaic
December 21, 2009 by Kala

It is very difficult to capture all the details of an entire leaf in one photograph. I took my best *shot* with my macro lens and this is the result. Do you see the little mosaic tiles?

Love the tone, and the detail is amazing. Are those like some type of shards on the bottom left of the leaf?
Excellent shot!
Oh, that’s a stunning image! Just perfectly lit and composed, too!
Thanks Jay.
Thank you Juan. I think those shards you’re referring to are a result of the way the light was hitting the leaf.
A remarkable photograph. Your composition and control of color make this a one of a kind image.
Thank you Glenn.
It looks like a crocadile or snake skin or something. That’s amazing!
It does look a bit like that Ari.
I love the color palette in your photo. I see all the mosaics, the veins, the great details. Excellent macro in all respects.
Thanks so much for your visit and comment!
I do, and I keep looking for an inch worm, lol.
haha, thanks Lisa
Your photos are amazing. I’ve been calling my husband in to look at them for a couple of weeks now.
I would love to make paintings of them, but I know that’s cheating.

Thank you so much! I’d love to see one of your paintings.
A beautiful photograph, a beautiful texture and beautiful tone, I like.
Thanks!
Wonderful detail and I echo Ari about the crocodile skin too.
Thanks Sarah.

Thank you so much!
Great texture, line, and color. oooooh
Thank you!
The texture and color really captures the feeling of fall. Very nice work.
Thanks for your visit and comment.
Gorgeous shot Kala – I love the line, texture and pattern in these leaf veins. There’s so many possible compositions in the surface of a leaf if one looks closely enough. Nicely done!
Cheers,
Dave
