Wrought iron fence shots seem to be all the rage on Flickr right now. I haven’t done any myself, but I have taken some macro shots of chain-link fences. They can be beautiful also!

Another macro shot from early this year. I think the title says it all – this poor leaf!

Here’s a macro shot from early this year. The leaf on the right side of the image looks like it’s nudging the other one for some cuddling. Yes? Yes! Anyway, I’ve no idea how they withstood this past winter because it was so brutal. And speaking of winter, we are supposed to get half a [...]
Marschiano Berries

These are fruits of the crabapple tree* but they look like marschiano cherries to me. You know those cherries that come in a jar that bars put in cocktails. Yummy! – the cherries, not the crabapple fruit. * EDIT: I have been informed by my dear friend Dave who is the resident expert on all [...]

Here’s a macro shot from October of rudbeckia a/k/a black-eyed susans. Beautiful flower. I’ve mentioned that they are very photogenic indeed, and really they do seem to be showing off for the camera here.

This time last month I did a little series called “Can you guess what this is?” and thought I’d pick up and continue it for the next couple of days. While I do love nature photography, I also enjoy capturing images of the ordinary & mundane with my macro lens. The detail of everyday things [...]

This is another photo of the gorgeous shrub American Beautyberry, also called French Mulberry. It’s hard to believe that I took this shot only a couple of weeks ago, because the color is really astounding for late autumn in Northern Illinois. Beautiful Mother Nature.
