The split-tones on this are just gorgeous … using the ivory-like tone seems particularly inspired. It’s a beautiful photograph that shows how piano is at once part of it’s surroundings and at the same time wholly separate and discreet. Lovely as always
I have played around with my piano to get some shots but so far has not mananged to capture anything I am happy with. This is great though and you have inspired me to try again.
Hmm. I think I would like to see a little bit more depth of field on this image. I do like the high key and that if you look close, you can recognize what it is. And at the same time, it is a beautiful abstract of form on quick glance.
My first reaction is “wow!” At first the DOF needed to be a bit deeper, but as I looked at your photo, I decided that the narrow DOF works well as it just keeps the photo from being lost. Instead it draws the eye right to the point of recognizing the keys and will not let the focus wander. Nice. My second reaction is “wow!” Great job!
Bardzo lubię i podziwiam Twoje zdjęcia, a to jest kolejne niesamowite. Pozdrawiam.
I really like and admire your photos, and this is another incredible. Yours.
It is always inspiring to get to your blog. Beautiful picture with great focus. It puts the mind at work. Beautiful picture.
Thanks for sharing.

I knew right away it was a piano….what a wonderful angel of the keys. And the ‘misty’ hint that surrounds it makes it even better. I LOVE pianos by the way.
Sorry I’m so late in getting over to visit with you since you left your comment in my blog …I’ve been feeling poorly with a bout of the flu. Hope your week has been treating you well, and I wanted to thank you for stopping by.
There really is something so effective about macro photos of piano keys! I included one of these in my Project 366 Rewind back in February.
Beautiful shot Kala! http://amothersfaithhopeandlove.blogspot.com.au/

Previously, I had no problems, only in this post. I wrote three times, at different times. The third time a comment is published. We’ll see how it will now. Yours warm.
We have an old piano in the basement and have often pondered–while not doing–taking different shots of the keys. You have created a wonderful ambiance here!
